1961 Monaco Grand Prix - Part Two

This is the second part of a series of six segments on the 1961 Grand Prix of Monaco, Stirling's most famous Formula 1 victory which he took racing the Rob Walker Lotus 18. Enjoy watching this absorbing 49 year old footage.

Features further qualifying footage, the run down for the race grid, with Jack Brabham making a flying visit to put his car on the grid, and an interview with Masten Gregory who comments on the rule changes made in 1961 when engine sizes were reduced from 2.5 to 1.5 litres in an effort to slow the speed of the cars down, reduce costs and encourage other car manufacturers into Formula 1, sounds like we have been here before! Gregory did not qualify for the race in his Camoradi Cooper T53, ironic given the comments he makes about other drivers abilities with the lower powered cars.
