Visitors to the 2016 NEC Classic Motor Show took the stirling opportunity to meet one of the world’s most famous motor racing legends, as he starred at the season finale event.

As the special guest of Stewart Miller & Peter James Insurance, Sir Stirling attracted queues of fans, eager to get his autograph as he signed books and memorabilia on the Stewart Miller & Peter James Insurance stand on the Saturday of the show at Birmingham’s NEC.

Show-goers gave the 16-time F1 Grand Prix winner no less than four standing ovations as he took to the live stage to be interviewed by TV’s Mike Brewer, revealing some of the secrets, daring tales, thrills and spills of his illustrious motor racing career.

Classic Car Clubs didn’t miss out either, as Sir Stirling paid a visit to a number of the many clubs in proud attendance at the event, including the Triumph Sports Six Club, the MG Octagon Car Club, the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register, the Post Vintage Humber Car Club, the Standard Triumph Forum, Club Triumph, the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club, the Association of Rootes Car Clubs and the Federation of British Historic Vehicles Clubs.

During a jam-packed schedule, Sir Stirling was reunited with cars he had rallied, admired the beautiful vehicles on display, chatted to enthusiasts and was updated on the latest research, projects and fund-raising programmes in the industry.
